Water right resources for Kansas landowners
These slides are from my presentation at the 2025 Kansas Landowners Conference hosted by the Department of Agricultural Economics at Kansas State University. They contain information on water use across Kansas, details on accessing water right information, and an overview of regional water resource concerns.

Pre-planting soil moisture and yields
This work examines whether pre-planting soil moisture provides useful information in predicting yields. The linked slides are from a presentation I gave at the 2025 Risk and Profit conference hosted by the department of Agricultural Economics at Kansas State University. For a more in-depth explanation of the methods, please refer to Parker Vulgamore’s thesis.

Carbon farming in Kansas
To look at the slides from my presentation at the Mid-America Farm Expo, click on this link. For more information on the various carbon farming programs, I’d recommend taking a look at some of the materials from Iowa State Extension, linked on this page. The two images in the gallery display the predicted rates of carbon sequestration for reductions in tillage and cover-cropping generated with data from the COMET Planner using a Random Forest.
